Vehicle Theft Alert
There have been three thefts of Ford Fiesta’s over the last couple of weeks in the Thanet area, two have been from Acol and Birchington in the last 24 hours. The common factor is that they were 2016 models with keyless entry. Also, two were white. The insecurity of this model is well documented.
It is believed that an electronic device is circumventing the vehicles security.
Any Fiesta owner with keyless entry should ensure their vehicle is secure and contact your Ford dealership for any assistance with preventative measures.
I would personally advise that if you have any vehicle with keyless entry and ignition, you should use a steering lock.
Please call Kent Police if you see anyone acting suspiciously. One suspect was wearing a grey Northface hooded top and grey joggers, quite short and of average-stocky build.
